PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this program is to enhance students' global perspective of world agriculture by developing a comprehensive view of agricultural food, fiber, economic, and educational systems in the Victoria and New South Wales regions of Australia.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the program, students will be to:
1) Compare the similarities and differences between U.S. (specifically the Midwestern region) and Australian food and fiber systems;

2) Describe the similarities and differences between the American and Australian university and public school agricultural education systems;

3) Explain the differences and similarities between U.S. and Australian commodity marketing;

4) Analyze the Australian and U.S. cultures to develop a deeper understanding of each; and

5) Express a deeper understanding of and appreciation for cultural diversity and interdependence.
